Norelga Macadamia Rwanda Ltd.
NORELGA MACADAMIA is a private initiative of Mr. GATARAYIHA Norce Elysee who was member of TWIHANGIRE Macadamia cooperative which has been cultivating Macadamia in Eastern Province mainly in NGOMA District since 2005.
The idea to establish a factory that processes macadamia came to him after observing that the production of the cooperative remained unexploited.
NORELGA MACADAMIA is a pioneer of growing macadamia and the first industrial macadamia processor in Rwanda. The Enterprise produces dried and roasted macadamia nuts for the local and international markets as well as peanuts, peanut flour, peanut butter and sunflower oil for the local and regional markets.
RDB 2017 Emerging Exporter Award Winner
The RDB Business Excellence Awards 2017, under the theme ’In pursuit of Business Excellence’, celebrates efforts made by both corporate and small medium sized enterprises in Rwanda. The awards are an opportunity for the local business community to come together and celebrate business development and success. Over 400 guests attended, including members of local business community, development partners and various other stakeholders.
The ten categories that were awarded are the Investor of the Year, Emerging Investor of the Year, the Exporter of the Year, Emerging Exporter of the Year, The Innovator of the Year, The Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, The Made in Rwanda Enterprise of the Year, The Manufacturer of the Year and the Service Provider of the year. Over 100 companies applied for the RDB Business Excellence Awards 2017.
